Rep. Berkeley has sent a letter to Sec. of State Clinton asking for a conditions to be placed on money planned to aid the reconstruction of Israeli-occupied Palestine. Since our government finances Israeli colonization of Palestine, and Israel, with U.S. support has just finished demolishing so much of Gaza's infrastructure, I have to ask how far is Berkeley prepared to bow to insure that Israel gets its way regardless of the calls of humanity or the self-interest of the U.S. itself which she must at least claim to put above those of foreign powers such as Israel. Isn't Berkley more a representative of the American Israeli Lobby than she of America's foreign policy needs? Will she ever stand up against Israel and for the United States and their interests?
