SB 272 is ridiculous!!!!!!!! I can't believe that Senator Patricia Miller would rather have addicts be actively addicted, going back to jail, losing their jobs, contracting/spreading diseases such as HIV/Hepatitis than have them in treatment. This type of legislation is barbaric! How can there be such mis-information regarding methadone maintenance treatment? This treatment saves lives, lowers crime rates, saves families, stops the spread of disease, stops the use of illicit drugs and allows people to live normal lives! This is why there need to be term limits on Senators, otherwise they rear their ugly heads and go on witch hunts against things they don't understand.

Senator Miller has introduced SB 272; that has targeted methadone patients (and their families)and will expose them to further stigma...and breach their confidentiality...as well as limit their time in methadobne treatment to 2 years. This is really the domain of a medical doctor and Senator Miller should think this through before mandating time lines for a treatment that has saved many lives.
