I live in Morningside and our bus schedule is horrible. We have no bus service on the weekends at all. The weekday schedules are good in the morning and after work, however, if you need to get home between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm, you're out of luck, the bus runs maybe once an hour or hour and a half. Now they want to cut our bus service AGAIN. You have got to be kidding me. They are making it very difficult to live in the city and work downtown. I have a co-worker who lives in Ohio and has LESS trouble getting to work than I do. We have alot of elderly people in the neighborhood who rely on the bus to do their grocery shopping, etc. and they cut the bus that goes to Waterworks Mall for them to even go shopping or maybe even go to a movie. That's a real shame. I'm begging you to STOP THE CUTS. If they evaluated our 87M bus, they would see that the morning buses are packed with people. I agree that during the afternoon hours, its a bit slow, so why doesn't PAT use shuttle buses during those off peak hours? It certainly would save money on gas? Please do what you can to help the people in Morningside with this bus situation. And then you wonder why people are moving out of the city.....this is why....we can't get around town.
