HB 337 is almost the most ridicules idiotic bill I have ever seen. If you are a victim of theft, you might as well plan on never seeing you property again. This bill, along with the change in the law allowing pawn shops to sell potential stolen property of victims to the public after only holding the property for two weeks instead of 30 days, allows crooks to legally fence their stolen property with the aid of pawn shops. Law enforcement is now being forced by this ridicules bill to aid the criminals and pawn shops owners in their unlawful unethical acts. Law enforcement is now forced by this bill to use the pawn shops as evidence lockers for stolen property. The defense lawyers will have a field day with this one in court. I would suggest that victims of property crimes call Ms. Seelig when their property is stolen so she can call her friends at the pawn shops who can inform you that your stolen property is available for pickup, for a fee of course. Good luck Utah victims.
