Biography
Rep. Jim Avery, a Republican, represents part of St. Louis County, which includes the City of Crestwood, Sunset Hills, Fenton and Grantwood Village (District 95) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first term in November 2002. In addition to his legislative accomplishments, Rep. Avery is self-employed. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1991 to 1993, serving in "Operation Restore Hope,â Somalia. Rep. Avery is a member of the Missouri National Guard and in 2004-2005 served with A Company 1140th Engineer Battalion in "Operation Iraqi Freedomâ. Rep. Avery is a member of the Crestwood-Sunset Hills Chamber of Commerce, Fenton Chamber of Commerce, Gravois Republican Club, Tesson Ferry Republican Club and the St. Louis County
