Biography
Rep. Terry Young, a Democrat, represents part of Jackson County, which includes portions of Independence, Raytown and eastern Kansas City (District 49), in the Missouri House of Representatives. Elected to the House in November 2002, Rep. Young serves in House Leadership as Democratic Caucus secretary. In addition to her legislative duties, Rep. Young works for Western Missouri and Kansas and Eastern Missouri Laborers' Employers Cooperation and Education Trust. She previously worked as director of government relations of American Medical Response and was a reporter for the Independence Examiner. Young lives in Raytown. She has two children: Heather and Lindsay.
