Biography
Rep. Brian Yates, a Republican, serves southeastern Jackson County's 56th District in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was first elected to the House in November 2002, winning re-election in 2004 and 2006. He is currently serving his third session as the chairman of the House Committee on Insurance Policy. In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Yates is a practicing attorney licensed in Missouri and Kansas. Rep. Yates attends Woods Chapel United Methodist Church and is a member of the Lee's Summit Chamber of Commerce, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the Missouri Bar Association, the Jackson County Republican Leadership Council, the Lee's Summit Republican Club, the Greater Kansas City Pachyderm Club, and the American Legislative Exchange
