Biography
Rep. Terry Swinger, a Democrat, represents Pemiscot, Dunklin and part of New Madrid Counties (District 162) in the Missouri House of Representatives. Rep. Swinger was elected in a special election in November 2003 and reelected in 2004. Rep. Swinger is an Optometrist in Caruthersville. He has been in practice since 1965 and has offices in Caruthersville, Kennett and Portageville. In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Swinger is a past cabinet member of the North Central States Optometric Council; past member of the Board of Directors of the Missouri Optometric Association serving as President in 1992; former trustee of the Missouri Optometric Foundation; a former member of the University of Missouri School of Optometry Advisory Council and former member and President of the Missouri
