Biography
Representative Shannon Cooper, a Republican, represents Henry County, and parts of Bates, Cass, Johnson and Pettis counties (District 120) in the Missouri House of Representatives. First elected in 2000 and re-elected in 2004, Rep. Cooper is owner and operator of Walls General Store a sporting goods retailer located in Blairstown, Mo. Recent legislative accomplishments include the successful sponsoring and passage of House Bill No. 600 (2003), a broad revenue enhancement measure that generates almost $100 million without a tax increase. He also handled Senate Bill No. 675, a bill that swept various state departments’ slush funds to free up money for appropriation for education expenditures.
