Biography
Elected to the State Assembly in 2002, Assemblyman Rick Keene represents the 3rd District including Lassen, Plumas, Yuba, Nevada, Sierra and portions of Butte and Placer Counties. Prior to being elected to the Assembly, he served as a councilman and mayor to the City of Chico. Within months of his arrival to the Assembly, he assumed several leadership positions, such as Republican Whip and Vice Chair of the Committee on Water, Parks and Wildlife. Keene continues to serve in leadership positions on all key policy issues. He served as lead Republican on Budget for three years before being appointed as Vice-Chair for the Utilities and Commerce Committee in 2007.
