Biography
Assemblyman Mike Eng represents the 49th Assembly District, which is located within eastern Los Angeles County and includes the cities of Alhambra, El Monte, Monterey Park, Rosemead, San Gabriel, San Marino, and South El Monte. Assemblymember Eng chairs the State Assembly Business and Professions Committee, which oversees a broad range of important legislation in the areas of consumer protection, the creation and elimination of regulatory agencies, scope of practice, licensing and enforcement of issues for all boards and bureaus at the Department of Consumer Affairs, and governmental efficiency and cost control. He chairs the Select Committee on Hate Crimes and is a member of the California Asian and Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus. He is also a member of the Assembly Education, Environmental
