A limited liability corporation may electronically file its original articles of incorporation for a fee of $45 rather than the $100 currently required for paper filings. This act allows a corporation to change the filing month for its corporate registration report in return for an additional $20 filing fee. The Department of Revenue may only award fee office contracts to: (1) Municipalities, counties, fire districts, or school districts or coalitions of school districts; (2) Charitable organizations and other entities that are exempt from taxation under Section 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended. Such organizations and entities include, but are not limited to, chambers of commerce, veterans' organizations, and local school foundations; or (3) Individuals or for-profit entities, provided that such fee office contracts are awarded through a competitive bidding process.
