This bill provides immunity from civil liability to nurses while performing voluntary, free services in free clinics. The immunity would not apply to acts of gross negligence or willful misconduct or if the service at the clinic is part of the person's required nursing training. Under present law, physicians have the same type of immunity for medical services performed on a voluntary, free basis in free clinics as this bill provides to nurses.
