Bill Summary for *HB2168

This bill requires the state board of cosmetology to establish continuing education guidelines for renewal of cosmetologists' licenses of six contact hours of instruction, six tenths of continuing education units, during the calendar year preceding the annual renewal of license. Any applicant for renewal who does not complete continuing education for the year preceding the renewal year would be required to pay a penalty in an amount set by the board. Any applicant for renewal over 65 years of age would be exempt from the continuing education requirements of this bill.
