This bill requires acute care hospitals to offer immunizations for influenza and pneumococcal disease to inpatients who are 65 years of age or older prior to such patients' discharges. The immunizations must be offered from October 1 of each year to the following March 1 based on the latest recommendation of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The requirements of this bill are subject to the availability of the vaccine.
