Top Law and Government Legislation regarding 'Case management' in Federal Government

Recognizes: (1) lung cancer as a public health priority; (2) the importance of reducing the lung cancer mortality rate by at least half by 2015; (3) the benefit of graduate medical education programs in thoracic medicine and cardiothoracic surgery; and (4) the importance of the recommendations of the Lung Cancer Progress Review Group of the National Cancer Institute.

Encourages increased investment for lung cancer research and other lung cancer-related programs.

Expresses support for efforts to develop a broad-based lung cancer screening and disease management program among members of the Armed Forces and veterans.

Disapproves the rule submitted by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services within the Department of Health and Human Services relating to optional state plan case management services under the Medicaid program. Declares that such rule shall have no force or effect.

Prohibits the Secretary of Health and Human Services, before such date, from taking any action to restrict coverage or payment under Medicaid if such action is more restrictive than the administrative action, policy, or practice that applies to coverage of, or payment for, such services under Medicaid on December 3, 2007.

Makes null and void any such action taken by the Secretary between December 4, 2007, and March 31, 2009, that is based in whole or in part on such interim final rule.

Medicare Chronic Care Practice Research Network Act of 2007 - Directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services to establish a Medicare Chronic Care Practice Research Network to develop and evaluate evidence-based chronic care management for Medicare beneficiaries with multiple, chronic conditions, with a focus on beneficiaries under the Medicare fee-for-service program whose care is most costly.
