Present law prohibits animal trapping except during the open season on the particular animal sought to be trapped. The use of nets, spring poles, and deadfalls are prohibited at all times and all places. The use of cable snare traps is prohibited in Bradley, Carter, Cocke, Cumberland, Grainger, Greene, Hamblen, Hamilton, Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson, Johnson, Meigs, Morgan, Polk, Rhea, Roane, Scott, Sullivan, Unicoi, and Washington counties. Also, Dyer County is authorized to prohibit the use of any snare trap except by landowners and authorized representatives of the Obion-Forked Deer Basin authority.
This bill authorizes the use of cable snare traps in all counties and deletes authorization for Dyer County to prohibit the use of any snare traps.
