For so many Americans who have depleted their Unemployment Benefits as well as myself, the emergency extension of benefits should have been passed yesterday. America can take care of other countries as well as spend billions for the Iraq war, but does not show enough compassion and interest in their own citizens where we pay taxes and serve our country. Shame on America!!!

After 4 1/2 years I was let go from a mortgage company. My unemployment benefits are soon to be ran out. I am a single mom, looking for a job every single day but not a chance. I have sent at least 300 resumes. My qualifications are great. I am scared I am not going to make it. Please extend benefits so I can continue taking care of my home and my son. Please help the needy.

I am 65 years old, single, not enough savings to live on Social Security. I need to work and want to work. In all of my working life I never once collected unemployment until the end of 2007 when my company merged with another company and over 1000 employees were displaced. My unemployment benefits have just run out. I have been trying for 7 months the find a new job with no luck. I need the unemployment compensation extension in order to survive. If I don't get it, I will lose my home to foreclosure. I have sent out over 500 resumes. No jobs, No extension, this country is in trouble, Mr. President.

After 16 years on the same Job working for the chicago school system with Parent Involvement, I never thought I would be unemployed. Now My benefits have run out as of Feb. 2008. I have had so many doors close, I beleive emplyees what young not experience. I would rather work, I am even willing to do laundry. however when they look at my resume, it seems as thought it is not in that field. Please extend unemployment, I just need to try to continue to to provide a roof over my head and food.
