I am a widow who is not entitled to a widows pension because I work for the federal government and make more than 14,140.00/year. My husband collected social security pension for two years before his death. Now no one will collect what he paid in all those years. I still have the same bills but now I am without his pension. I also worked 16 years under social security. I would like them to keep my social security pension and just add the 16 years I worked in the private sector to my years of service in the Federal government.

I'm a first generation Italian American who has worked hard all my life toraise three children. I am a disabled Police Officer and shocked to hear now that I'm 62 years that when I'm 66 my social security will be reduced by 40%. How dare the United States punish me that is so cruel. Lets pass this bill.

I worked all my life paying social security. i had low paying jobs, so my SS benefit at retirement will not be alot. Now.........in my last years of work, I am working for the state. So when I retire I might have the 10 years needed to collect a VERY small state pension. I am appauled that my hard earned SS will be cut just because i will also have a small state pension. How dare they """ Other workers can have SS and a private pension, and they don't get cut! My income is going to be frightfully low, probably poverty level. I support this bill to eliminate this injustice.

As a retired teacher in the state of California, I am appalled at the fact that I do not qualify for my full social security benefit even though I have in excess of 50 quarters of SS contributions. When I signed up for my social security number, which I consider a contract, it was understood that I would receive a full benefit upon retirement based upon funds contributed. I did not approve a change in that contract. I made the contribution, I deserve the benefit. Who made and authorized the change, and why isn't it applied in all states? I/we are getting screwed.
