DEBATE - The House proceeded with one hour of debate on the question of passage of H.R. 1495, the objections of the President to the contrary, notwithstanding.

Pursuant to the permission granted in Clause 2(h) of Rule II of the Rules of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Clerk notified the House that she had received from the White House on November 2, 2007, at 1:49 p.m. stating a message from the President whereby he returns without his approval, H.R. 1495, the "Water Resources Development Act of 2007.

The Chair laid before the House a veto message from the President on November 5, 2007 and that after the message was read and the objections of the President were spread at large upon the Journal, further consideration of the veto message and the bill shall be postponed until Tuesday, November 6, 2007.
