This is obviously just an attempt by the dog hunters to keep more animals for their dogs to run. The TWRA should manage game, not county commissions. - Todd said03/27/2009
Hunters have got to stop chopping the legs out from other hunters! Your way is NOT the only way to hunt.... - B.Hart said03/21/2009
Bear hunting should be open to all hunting methods.Bear hunting with dogs can mess up the hunting for many other people.Hunting any animal should not be controled by one group.May be we should ban hunting with dogs i have been nearly driven off the road many times as they track their dogs. One of the local game checking stations had a bear turned in and it had been shot by a young girl 6 times .I think very little meat could be used from that bear. The bear weighed only 175 lbs. Bad example to those who opose hunting. - D. Snipes said03/21/2009
I do not feel that this should be considered as it limits the abilities of others to hunt bear. I as a bow hunter enjoy the increased opportunity to harvest one of our states large game animals and feel that dog hunting should be banned before considering bow hunting bans. The dogs disrupt the habitat much more as they chase not only bear but deer and turkey as well. I have had the good fortune to harvest a bear with a bow without the use of dogs thus making it more sporting than treeing and shooting one with a gun. I am sorry but i do not see this as anything but an attempt of a few to regulate to their advantage and increase their opportunity to harvest. Mr Hawk the wildlife belongs to all of the citizens of tennessee not only the gun and dog hunters.
