Is anyone from the legislature actually reading these comments? Why is this bill still under consideration?

I use the court system daily and can say it is a bad idea to give clerk functions to the judges. It only invites corruption and being in Broward I can tell you we have plenty of it as it is already. I don't want the judges employee handling records, being the court clerk in hearings or trials or assigning cases. I get chills up and down my spine just imagining what would happen. And in Broward corruption is a certainty if this passes.

This looks like a strong arm tactic to wrestle away funds from the county to the state. The sponsor obviously has not given this idea much thought. Do I hear Sarah Palin......

I pray this bill does not pass. The State needs to learn to manage its budget and THINK about ways to work efficiently. Ask Harvey Ruvin for advice, he knows what he is doing.

The State is just looking for another source of revenue at the cost of the employees at the Clerk's Officee, thier families, and the citizens of Miami-Dade County.

i think now is not the right time to do these type of changes. too many people are unemployed as it is. i strongly disagree with these bills.

yea at a time like this lets give the state more power. for what? so they can do away with more money. great what's next?

You must oppose this bill. The Clerk's offices across the State provide a "buffer" between the Sheriff and the Judge especially family related matters. Please just say "NO"!

It is a great honor to work for the clerk of courts in Miami-Dade county. I would like for it to stay that way. I oppose this bill. please reconsider.

It seems interesting that although Art. V of the Florida Constitution directs the Clerk of Courts (I draw your attention to the very title-CLERK OF COURTS), to provide specific court related functions, it is now the desire of the judiciary to usurp those functions in order to get a portion of the fees collected by the Clerk of Courts. Although I understand their need for funds, they should look to their employer (the state) for the money.

I work for the Clerk of Courts in Miami-Dade County. As someone has already said, If it's not broke it doesn't need to be fixed. Imagine training new employees to do something many of us has been doing for years. The general public will suffer. Many long-time employees will probably move to other departments just to stay with the county and not want to switch over to the State. I strongly oppose this bill. It's very selfish...Thank you Mr. Harvey Ruvin for your hard work...

The state constitution prohibits this and county employees don't need to be taken over by the state that can't even handle its own budget. No, No NO!!!
