Constitutional Amendments - Establishes procedures for exercise of powers and duties of governor during period of disability. - Fiscal Summary for *HJR1022Increase State Expenditures - $20,000 One-Time Bill Summary for *HJR1022 This resolution proposes an amendment to the state constitution to provide for the exercise of the powers and duties of the governor during a temporary disability. Under this proposed amendment, whenever the governor transmits to the secretary of state, the speaker of the senate, and the speaker of the house a written declaration that the governor is unable to perform the powers and duties of the office, the powers and duties of the office of governor would be exercised by the speaker of the senate or, if that office is unoccupied, by the speaker of the house.
