To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to assist individuals confronting high gasoline and diesel fuel costs in commuting to work by allowing a refundable credit against income tax based on the business standard mileage rate for commuting miles, and for other purposes. 5/22/2008--Introduced. End the Pain at the Pump Act of 2008 - Amends the Internal Revenue Code to: (1) allow an excise tax credit between June 1, 2008, and May 30, 2011, for individuals commuting to work in a vehicle fueled primarily by gasoline or diesel fuel; (2) treat the income of partners performing investment management services as ordinary income and set forth tax rules for the treatment of partnership acquisition indebtedness and other partnership interests; and (3) require the inclusion in gross income for income tax purposes of employee compensation deferred under a nonqualified deferred compensation plan of a nonqualified entity when there is no substantial risk of forfeiture of the rights to [...]
