Companion Bill SB2989. Workers' Compensation - Exempts certain employers and employees from certain provisions of the Workers' Compensation Law on religious grounds. - Amends TCA Title 50, Chapter 6. Fiscal Summary for HB4160 / *SB2989 MINIMAL Bill Summary for HB4160 / *SB2989 This bill authorizes employers to apply for exemption from the Workers' Compensation Act with respect to employees who provide a written waiver and an affidavit indicating that the employee is a member of a recognized religious sect that is conscientiously opposed to the acceptance of the benefits of public or private insurance. In the case of an employee who is a minor, this bill authorizes the minor's guardian to make the affidavit and waiver.
