COSMETOLOGY-SCHOOLS-REFUNDS
Amends the Barber, Cosmetology, Esthetics, and Nail Technology Act of 1985. In a provision concerning school refund policies, removes a reference to the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences.
House Amendment No. 1 With regards to student cancellation, provides that when a student has completed 5% or more of the course of instruction, the school shall refund a part of the tuition and other instructional charges in accordance with the requirements of the school's regional or national accrediting agency, if any. Provides that there is no rulemaking authority under the amendatory Act, but that the Governor may suggest rules by filing them with the General Assembly and requesting that the General Assembly authorize such rulemaking by law, enact the suggested rules into law, or take other appropriate action in the General Assembly's discretion.
