Companion Bill SB3810. Motor Vehicles - Imposes additional fine of $25.00 to be deposited in the brain injury fund by drivers who engage in drag racing. - Amends TCA Title 68, Chapter 55, Part 3. Fiscal Summary for HB3512 / *SB3810Increase State Revenue - $1,900 / Traumatic Brain Injury Fund Bill Summary for HB3512 / *SB3810 Present law classifies the criminal offense "drag racing" as a Class B misdemeanor, although the criminal classification of the offense may be enhanced if the violation results in serious bodily injury to another person. The penalty for a Class B misdemeanor is a fine of up to $500 and imprisonment for up to six months. Present law imposes fines, in addition to those authorized for classes of criminal offenses, for certain specific crimes involving motor vehicles.
