ON APRIL 21, 2008, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 3610, AS AMENDED.
AMENDMENT #1 limits the vehicles for which placards may be issued pursuant to this bill to those vehicles permanently equipped with a wheelchair ramp or lift. This amendment clarifies that use of the placard for a purposes other than those authorized by this bill or the use of the placard on any motor vehicle not permanently equipped with a wheelchair ramp or life would be grounds for the forfeiture of the placard. This amendment specifies that a violation of this bill would be a Class B misdemeanor punishable only by a fine of $200.
