ON APRIL 14, 2008, THE HOUSE ADOPTED AMENDMENT #1 AND PASSED HOUSE BILL 3170, AS AMENDED.
AMENDMENT #1 rewrites this bill.
Under the present workers' compensation law, when an employee suffers a compensable work-related injury, the employer is required to present the employee with a panel of at least three physicians from which the employee is entitled to select the operating surgeon or the attending physician.
This amendment specifically authorizes an employee to select the operating surgeon and the attending physician from the employer's panel.
