Present law requires any facility where medical or surgical procedures are utilized to terminate a pregnancy to be licensed as an ambulatory surgical treatment center; provided, however, that private physicians' and dentists' office practices are exempt from such licensure requirement, except private physicians' and dentists' offices in which a substantial number of medical or surgical pregnancy terminations are performed.

This bill requires any private physician's or dentist's office in which medical or surgical pregnancy terminations are performed to be licensed as an ambulatory surgical treatment center.
