Companion Bill SB2756. Sexual Offenders - Adds the offense of aggravated rape of a child as a "violent sexual offense" for purpose of the sexual offender registry. - Amends TCA Section 40-39-202. Fiscal Summary for HB2920 / *SB2756Increase State Expenditures - Not Significant Bill Summary for HB2920 / *SB2756 This bill requires any person who is convicted of rape of a child to register as a violent sexual offender instead of a sexual offender. Under present law, the primary differences between registration as a sexual offender and registration as a violent sexual offender are as follows: (1) Sexual offenders are required to report annually to their designated law enforcement agency to update and verify information that is required for the registry.
