Companion Bill HB2881. Alcoholic Offenses - Prohibits district attorney from plea bargaining with person charged with DUI to any offense that does not involve unlawful operation of a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant. - Amends TCA Title 55, Chapter 10, Part 4. Fiscal Summary for SB3040 / *HB2881(CORRECTED) Decrease State Revenue - $46,900 Increase Local Revenue - $168,800 Increase Local Expenditures* - $41,800 Bill Summary for SB3040 / *HB2881 Present law details the punishment to be imposed for a DUI conviction. This punishment is enhanced if the offender has prior DUI convictions. This bill specifies that a person charged with DUI must be prosecuted as provided in those present law provisions.
