Companion Bill SB3390. Education - Requires students in grades K-12 to possess health insurance beginning in academic year 2009-2010. - Amends TCA Title 49; Title 56 and Title 67. Fiscal Summary for *HB2767 / SB3390Increase State Expenditures - $12,729,900 Increase Local Expenditures* - $6,895,200 Other Fiscal Impact - Increase Federal Expenditures - $31,431,300 Bill Summary for *HB2767 / SB3390 This bill requires the department of education, in consultation with the department of health, to establish minimum guidelines for health insurance coverage necessary for attendance in schools for grades K through 12. Beginning in academic year 2009-2010 and each subsequent year, proof of health insurance in compliance with the department's guidelines would be required from each student before the student could begin classroom instruction.
