Under present law, a person who is licensed by the board of any healing arts profession and who volunteers services that are within the limits of such person's license, certificate, or authorization is immune from liability for civil damages for any act or omission that results from the giving of such services. This immunity applies if the volunteer services are performed at a clinic that provides health care without charge. This civil immunity does not apply if the damaging act or omission was the result of the licensee's gross negligence or willful misconduct.

This bill expands the above provision to also provide immunity when the services are rendered at a clinic that provides health care for a nominal charge.
