Victims' Rights - Enacts the "Emergency Care for Rape Victims Act of 2007." - Fiscal Summary for *HB1989 / SB2073 Increase State Expenditures - $7,200 One-Time Bill Summary for *HB1989 / SB2073 This bill requires hospitals providing emergency care to rape victims to: (1) Provide each rape victim with medically and factually accurate and objective oral and written information about emergency contraception for preventing pregnancy; and (2) Orally inform each rape victim of her option to be provided with emergency contraception at the hospital. This bill would not apply to any hospital with a religious affiliation that chooses not to comply with the bill.
