Companion Bill HB0262. Taxes, Real Property - Provides property tax relief for veterans permanently and totally disabled from service-connected activities. - Amends TCA Section 67-5-704. Fiscal Summary for SB0282 / *HB0262 Increase State Expenditures - Exceeds $1,850,000 Bill Summary for SB0282 / *HB0262 This bill revises the present law provisions governing property tax relief for certain disabled veterans to expand the group of qualifying veterans. Under present law, a disabled veteran of a U.S. armed force may receive the amount necessary to pay or reimburse the veteran for all or part of the local property taxes paid for a given tax year on property that the disabled veteran owned and used as the disabled veteran's residence if the veteran meets one of the following descriptions: (1) Has a disability from paraplegia or permanent [...]
