Under present law, the Uniform Residential Landlord and Tenant Act (URLTA) only applies to the following counties: Anderson, Blount, Bradley, Davidson, Hamilton, Knox, Madison, Maury, Montgomery, Sevier, Shelby, Sumner, and Wilson.

This bill extends the application of the URLTA to the entire state. This extended application would not alter rental agreements entered into before the effective date of July 1, 2007, unless those agreements are extended or renewed after that date.
