Present law requires the elevator safety board to regulate elevators, dumbwaiters, escalators, and aerial passenger tramways.
This bill adds to the elevator safety board's duties by requiring the board to regulate moving walks. A moving walk is a moving runway to transport passengers, where the passenger transporting surface remains parallel to its direction of motion and is uninterrupted.
