Fiscal Summary for HB1449 / *SB1915Increase State Expenditures - Not Significant Bill Summary for HB1449 / *SB1915 This bill requires hospitals to maintain a written policy regarding discount payments for financially qualified patients as well as a written charity care policy. This bill specifies that uninsured patients or patients with high medical costs who are at or below 350 percent of the federal poverty level would be eligible to apply for participation under each hospital's charity care policy or discount payment policy. Both of the policies must state the process used by the hospital to determine whether a patient is eligible for charity care or discounted payment.[...]
