Education - Requires school resource officers to be a law enforcement officer in compliance with laws, rules, and regulations of the POST commission; imposes certain basic training requirements on the officers. - Amends TCA Title 38 and Title 49, Chapter 6, Part 42. Expenditures* - $170,100 Bill Summary for *HB0403 / SB0938 Present law requires the commissioner of education, working with the commissioner of safety, to recommend employment standards for the eligibility, qualifications, and training requirements for school resource officers. The commissioner must distribute the recommendations to each LEA.
