Bill Summary for HB0264 / *SB0183

Present law requires that money arising from the sale of school bonds be turned over to the trustee of the county. In counties that have special school districts operating schools, the trustee of the county pays bond funds over to the special school district, provided that such school district has a bonded treasurer and funds are kept separate.

This bill provides that in Shelby County bond funds would only be allocated to a school district if a facility for which the funds were issued is located in that district.
