Companion Bill SB1264. Public Officials - Prohibits state and local elected officials from seeking elected state or local office after conviction of a state or federal felony related to public service. - Amends TCA Section 40-20-114. Fiscal Summary for HB1874 / *SB1264 MINIMAL Bill Summary for HB1874 / *SB1264 Under present law, a person who is convicted of a felony or an infamous crime and sentenced to the penitentiary, either on the state or federal level, is disqualified from qualifying for, seeking, or holding any office under the authority of this state unless and until such person's citizenship rights have been restored by a court of competent jurisdiction.
