Bill Summary for *HB1254

This bill requires that every countywide elected official be paid compensation at least equal to the compensation paid to the highest paid appointed official or employee under the office of the county mayor.

This bill eliminates the present law requirement that the salary of the sheriff and chief administrative officer of the county highway department be at least 10 percent higher than the salary paid to the general officers of the county.
