Bill Summary for *HB0433 / SB0880

Under present law, any county employee who is otherwise qualified to serve as a member of the county legislative body is not disqualified from the office due to being a county employee.

This bill disqualifies any county employee from serving as a member of the county legislative body for the county that employs the employee; provided, however, any member of a county legislative body who is a county employee prior to August 1, 2010, would not be disqualified to continue in office as a member of the county legislative body.
