Companion Bill SB1794. Tobacco, Tobacco Products - Expands prohibitions on smoking on school grounds. - Amends TCA Title 39, Chapter 17; Title 49 and Title 68. Fiscal Summary for HB2072 / *SB1794 Increase State Expenditures - Not Significant Bill Summary for HB2072 / *SB1794 Present law generally prohibits smoking on school grounds; provided, however, that after regular school hours, adults are allowed to smoke on the property surrounding the institution, but not blocking any entrance to any building. This bill removes the exception whereby adults are permitted to smoke on school property after school hours by prohibiting smoking on school grounds, in school buildings, on school buses, and at school sponsored events.
