This bill transfers regulatory functions regarding tagging requirements for mattresses and bedding from the department of health to the division of consumer affairs within the department of commerce and insurance. This bill also clarifies that any violation of the present law prohibition against offering comfort exchange policies to mattress buyers is subject to the penalties and remedies provided under the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act, including treble damages.
