Companion Bill SB1976. Annexation - Requires a referendum for certain purposes be held for a vote of property owners of areas proposed for annexation by a municipality located in a county where an annexation reserve agreement satisfies the requirements of the growth plan. - Amends TCA Title 6, Chapter 51 and Title 6, Chapter 58. Fiscal Summary for *HB1608 / SB1976 Increase Local Govt. Expenditures* - Less than $15,000 per polling site Bill Summary for *HB1608 / SB1976 Present law provides that any annexation reserve agreement or any agreement of any kind either between municipalities or between municipalities and counties setting out areas reserved for future municipal annexation and in effect on May 19, 1998, are ratified and remain binding and in full force and effect.
