Companion Bill SB1966. Aged Persons - Adds improper use of private funds to definition of "exploitation" for Adult Protection statute. - Amends TCA Title 71, Chapter 6. Fiscal Summary for HB1868 / *SB1966Increase State Expenditures - $6,103,500 Recurring $292,700 One-Time Bill Summary for HB1868 / *SB1966 Present law requires any person who has reasonable cause to suspect that a disabled or elderly adult who relies on other persons for care has suffered abuse, neglect, or exploitation to report such activity to the department of human services for investigation and notification of law enforcement. "Exploitation" is the improper use by a caretaker of funds that have been paid by a governmental agency to the adult or to the caretaker for the use or care of the adult.
