Bill Summary for *HB0982 / SB1094

Present law requires that each induced termination of pregnancy that occurs in this state be reported to the office of vital records within 10 days after the procedure by the person in charge of the institution in which the induced termination of pregnancy was performed. This bill revises this requirement to instead require that a death certificate be prepared for each induced termination of pregnancy. The death certificate would state that the fetal death was due to an abortion.
