An original bill to amend the penalty provisions in the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, and for other purposes.
10/16/2007--Public Law. (There are 3 other summaries) (This measure has not been amended since it was passed by the Senate on June 26, 2007. The summary of that version is repeated here.) International Emergency Economic Powers Enhancement Act - Amends the International Emergency Economic Powers Act to increase: (1) the civil penalty for violations of such Act from $50,000 to the greater of $250,000 or twice the amount of the transaction that is the basis of the violation; and (2) the criminal penalty from $50,000 to up to $1 million.
